For eight days they celebrated the dedication of the altar and joyfully offered burnt offerings and sacrifices of deliverance and praise.1 Mc 4:36-37, 52-59

 “It is written, My house shall be a house of prayer Lk 19:45-48

In modern times just as in the Biblical era, we dedicate and rededicate and celebrate the anniversaries of places of worship. Indeed the Lord’s house should be a house of prayer and holiness. The greatest of God’s dwelling is the Body. The vessel of the soul, the temple of the Holy Spirit. It should be accustomed to sanctity and prayers.
