The martyrs we remember today are from Vietnam. They were victims of religious oppression and persecution. A lot of people today still cannot worship God freely especially in communist countries. Over the decade from 2007 to date, government restrictions on religion – laws, policies and actions by state officials that restrict religious beliefs and practices – increased markedly around the world and even more increased with the covid 19 pandemic. For Christians who testify to their faith while surrounded by difficulties and social hostilities, we ask for the divine grace of perseverance.

Lord bless us
in our vigilance for the gift of religious liberty.
Give us the strength of mind and heart
to readily defend our freedoms when they are threatened;
give us courage in making our voices heard
on behalf of the rights of your Church
and the freedom of conscience of all people of faith. Amen St. Andrew and his Companions.. Pray for us.
