Thursday of the Third Week of Lent

Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.” Luke 11:23

A man said to his grandson “A fight is going on inside me.It is a terrible fight and it is between two dogs. One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.” He continues, “The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person, too.” The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asks his grandfather, “Which dog will win?” To this the man replied,“The one you feed.”

Through the help of Divine grace, may we be strengthened to radiate joy, peace love serenity, humility, kindness, and all other fruits of the Holy Spirit this season and always.
