I forgave you your entire debt because you begged me to.
Should you not have had pity on your fellow servant,
as I had pity on you?’ Matthew 18:21-35
The parable of the merciless servant calls our attention to the need to forgive others generously as we receive mercy from God. The unforgiving servant feels entitled to his master’s forgiveness. He could not look past himself and the treatment he believes he deserves. We can avoid this error. God’s love and mercy should be a flowing stream in us. a stream we enjoy and allow to flow to others.
