May you heed the prayer which I, your servant, offer in this place. Listen to the petitions of your servant and of your people Israel 1 Kgs 8:22-23, 27-30
These are the prayers of King Solomon, at the dedication of the new temple in Jerusalem. The temple is the dwelling place of God. The common house of God’s people. All are welcome. God does not dwell in the temple alone. He dwells also in our hearts. May he grant the deepest petitions of our hearts and accept our worship of Him in his holy and sacred dwelling.( the Church)
The Lord be with you…. Lift up your hearts…….Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
