Tuesday of the Second Week of Lent.

You have but one master, the Christ. The greatest among you must be your servant. Whoever exalts himself will be humbled; but whoever humbles himself will be exalted. Mathew 23:12

The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, without any form of arrogance or ostentation. He was born of humble parents grew up among the lowly and for friends chose those at the lowest rungs of society’s ladder. In Christ, we have the example of humility because it is the only remedy to Pride and conflict with God. St. Paul guides us on the proper disposition to humility:

In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross! ( Philippians 2:6-11)

As we journey towards the Cross this season, may we conquer pride and sin, with humility as Christ Jesus. Amen.
