For those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you received a spirit of adoption, through which we cry, “Abba, Father!”

The apostles became emboldened to preach the goodnews after the descent of the Holy Spirit. They spoke fearlessly in public and baptized thousands of people (Acts 2:14-41). The Holy Spirit animates God’s love in us. When the zeal to live in freedom of God’s love and goodness begins to wane, we can always invoke the Holy Spirit.

May the Holy Spirit fill our hearts and enkindle in us the fire of God’s love. Amen.
