Happy new month

He laid his hands on each of them and cured them.
And demons also came out from many, shouting, “You are the Son of God.”

I welcome you into the month of September. The gospel reading of today offers us a better way of beginning this month. Jesus had rebuked the evil spirit and taught with authority, his fame increased and the people wanted him to stay with them, but he has to go to other places to continue this same mission of healing and preaching God’s word.

The gesture of Simon’s mother-in-law after healing is an inspiration to us all. ‘She stood up and served’ It is important to know that when God has blessed us or healed us as the case may be, he does not expect us to be idle; rather, we should become a channel through which God’s goodness is made know to others, thereby bringing others to the knowledge of God. May God help us to be His worthy instrument this month and beyond. Amen!
