God created us out of love to share in the glory of his image. By that, he also put in us the dignity we cherish; that makes us special and unique. God puts every other thing in place to serve the purpose of preserving his goodness in us. In the Spirit of St. Francis, we should also try to preserve goodness and beauty in all of creation.
According to St. Francis of Assisi, If you have men who will exclude any of God’s creatures from the shelter of compassion and pity, you will have men who will deal likewise with their fellow men. – Fr. Leo
